To fully understand the tragedy of the Triangle Fire, the author takes the reader all the way back to look at the reasons why so many people immigrated to the United States in early 1900. How did the businesses get away with treating other human beings as commodity? Why were men, women, and children willing to work in such horrible conditions? What was done to prevent similar tragedies in the United States? And finally, what can we do today to prevent the same tragedies from happening in other countries?
