A year ago we shared a "Frankly Freddy" blog post that traced the decline in reading scores to mandates requiring students to read primarily complex texts. But in a new paper, TextProject CEO Dr. Elfrieda (Freddy) Hiebert reports that children who read the more complex texts came out ahead. Does the new paper contradict the previous one?
