Creating Student Texts With AI
TextProject is developing resources to help teachers understand best practices for creating student texts with AI. These resources will support teachers in using AI technology to write developmentally appropriate high-interest texts for students who need additional support in reading. Our aim is to is to deepen teachers’ understanding of text features such as vocabulary load and decodability, so that they are better able to use AI to create texts that match their students’ interests and abilities.
Downloadable examples of texts for which TextProject’s founder and CEO/President, Freddy Hiebert, has used Al to generate, assist, or edit texts can be found at TextModels. Freddy will be posting periodic observations and guidelines for creating student texts with AI as this process continues at TextProject.
